In the axillae it may be necessary to mark out the area of sweating, though in most cases an excellent result is achieved by treating the hair bearing skin. Simple surface anaesthesia may be used and few people find the treatment unpleasant. Treatment of the hands and feet however requires a local anaesthetic procedure such as a wrist block for the hands, and ankle blocks or a regional conduction block (spinal anaesthesia) for injections to both feet. Naturally this type of more complex local anaesthesia, whilst extremely safe, is better conducted in a hospital setting. Your individual requirements will be discussed in detail during consultation.
